Poppleton the pig and his friend llama Cherry Pie return in three short vignettes. In the first, Poppleton wonders what his newly planted tree needs in order to grow. Although a mouse friend suggest cheese, and a dog friend suggests a bone, it is Cherry Pie who comes up with the correct answer--birds. So Poppleton buys bird feeders, and the birds appear. In the second episode, Cherry Pie brings over food to help Poppleton get rid of a cold, and in the third, Poppleton must make allowances when his friends aren't quite as helpful with decorating as he would like. Although this isn't as strong as some of the other series' titles, it is still a nice combination of easy text and delightful pictures. Ilene Cooper
